Fearless Bravery
Tonight, I was listening to Pastor John Ortberg speak about fearless bravery, and it reminded me of the bold prayer of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:10:
"Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory…"
When we were saved, God brought us out of darkness and into His Kingdom. But living in a broken world means we still wrestle with shadows of fear, pride, insecurity. Thankfully, God is patient and keeps working in us.
Every time we trust Him and face those dark places, we enlarge our spiritual territory. We let more of His Kingdom reign in our hearts.
So, what’s holding you back from that growth?
-
What are you avoiding? A hard conversation, a task, a truth, an emotion?
-
What are you afraid of? Is it a bill, medical result, email from your employer?
What’s the Worst That Can Happen? – Fear often grows in the dark. Shine a light on it.
What are you really afraid of? Can it separate you from God’s love? (Spoiler alert, nothing can!)
Take an Action. Send the email. Have the talk. Face the mirror. Open the bill. You don’t need to fix everything all at once, just move toward it.
Don’t Wait for Confidence – Courage isn’t about not feeling afraid. It’s doing the next good thing even when you do. Every time you do, your soul strengthens.
