Rooted in Christ, Victorious in Faith

Scripture: Colossians 2:6-15 (NLT)

"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness." (Colossians 2:6-7, NLT)

Reflection

Life often feels uncertain. Financial struggles, leadership pressures, and personal doubts can shake my confidence. But Paul reminds me that my security isn’t in my circumstances—it’s in Christ.

🔹 Rooted in Christ (v 6-7) – Life gets overwhelming—financial struggles, leadership pressures, and moments of doubt can make me feel lost. But Paul reminds me that my strength doesn’t come from my circumstances; it comes from Christ. Just as a tree needs deep roots to withstand storms, I must stay rooted in Jesus through prayer, the Word, and worship.

Am I truly growing in Christ, or am I relying on my own strength?
Do I take time to pray and read the Bible, letting my faith grow deeper?

🔹 Resisting Deception (v 8) – The world is full of distractions—false teachings, anxiety, and empty promises of success. Sometimes, I get caught up in worrying about money or the future, but Paul warns me not to be led by human thinking. My security isn’t in wealth or circumstances—it’s in Christ alone.

Am I allowing fear and worldly concerns to shape my decisions?
Do I trust God’s promises over what the world says?

🔹 Complete in Christ (v 9-10) - At times, I feel like I’m not good enough—whether in leadership, finances, or faith. But these verses remind me that I am already complete in Christ. I don’t need to prove myself; Jesus is my source of strength, wisdom, and confidence.

Do I truly believe that I am enough in Christ, or am I seeking validation elsewhere?
Am I living like someone who is complete in Jesus, or am I still striving for approval?

🔹 I Have Been Made New (Verses 11-12) - When I gave my life to Christ, my old sinful nature was removed. But sometimes, I fall into the trap of guilt, feeling unworthy of His grace. This passage reminds me that I am not defined by my past—I have been made new!

Am I holding onto past sins or failures instead of embracing my new identity in Christ?
Do I trust that Jesus has truly transformed me?

🔹 I Am Forgiven and Victorious (Verses 13-15)

The enemy loves to remind me of my past mistakes, my weaknesses, and my struggles. But this passage reminds me that Jesus has canceled my debt and given me victory over sin and fear. No matter what I face—financial challenges, leadership struggles, or personal doubts—I can stand firm knowing that Jesus has already won the battle for me.

Am I living in the freedom Christ has given me, or am I still carrying guilt and fear?
Do I truly believe that Jesus has won the victory for me?

Application

✔ When I feel weak, I will remind myself that my strength comes from Christ.
✔ When fear and doubt creep in, I will stand firm in God’s truth.
✔ When the world tempts me to trust in money or success, I will choose to trust in Christ alone.
✔ When I feel unworthy, I will declare that I am complete, forgiven, and victorious in Jesus.

I am complete, forgiven,
 and victorious in Christ
no fear, no doubt, just faith.
