Standing Firm in Faith
📖Scripture: Colossians 2:1-5 (NLT)
"I want you to know how much I have agonized for you and for the church at Laodicea, and for many other believers who have never met me personally. I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments. For though I am far away from you, my heart is with you. And I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong."
💡Reflection:
Life can be overwhelming. Financial struggles, leadership responsibilities, and moments of spiritual dryness can make faith feel like an uphill battle. But just as Paul encouraged the Colossians, I am reminded that I am not alone in my struggles.
🔹 Encouragement in Challenges – There are days when discouragement creeps in—when my finances are tight, and I wonder how I will make ends meet. But Paul reminds me that true encouragement is found in Christ, not in my circumstances. When I pray and trust Him, He fills me with peace.
🔹 United in Love and Leadership – As a connect group leader, I am called to strengthen and encourage others in their faith. Even when I feel weak, God still uses me to bring hope to others, just as Paul did for the Colossians. Leading is not about having it all together—it’s about pointing people to Christ.
🔹 Holding Firm to Christ’s Wisdom – Worry often tempts me to take control, especially when money is tight. But Paul reminds me that true wisdom and provision come from Christ. Instead of letting fear dictate my actions, I can trust that God sees my needs and will provide.
🔹 Standing Firm Against Doubt – There are moments when doubt and fear try to shake my faith. But this passage reminds me that Christ is enough. No matter what challenges I face, I can stand firm, knowing He is my source of strength and wisdom.
☝Application:
✔ When I feel anxious, I will choose to pray instead of worry.
✔ When leadership feels overwhelming, I will rely on Christ’s strength.
✔ When I don’t see the answers, I will trust God’s wisdom and provision.
✔ When doubt creeps in, I will hold on to the truth that Christ is enough.
not because life is easy,
but because Christ is enough.
